About
Father’s Heart Ministries

Father's Heart church building on a blue-sky winter day and fresh snow on the ground.

No matter who you are
or where you’ve been, you are welcome here.

Our Vision

Our passion is to empower the people of God unto healing and restoration, reclaiming their true identity in Christ as much-loved sons and daughters of the Father.

Our desire is to train and equip, then release the body of Christ into their God-given purposes.

Our vision is to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom through the power of the Holy Spirit with signs, wonders, and miracles. By demonstrating the love of Father God to individuals, they will experience that God is alive, powerful, personal, and mighty to save.

….that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
— Ephesians 3:16-21 ESV

What We Believe

Leadership

Welcome. We are Ron and Renee Grochowski, the founders and pastors of Father’s Heart Ministries.

We’re so glad you’re here. We invite you to learn about each of us—and the story of Father’s Heart Ministries.

From Renee

A lifelong caregiver and connector, I’m an ordained minister, and for more than 20 years I have ministered locally, regionally, and internationally. Answering God’s call to full-time ministry and touching His people to bring them life and hope has been the most glorious privilege of my life.

As a child, I attended church, but I didn’t have a personal relationship with Christ. At 18, I married Ron. We really grew up together, and our life has taken us to several states and given us three beautiful children. While raising our children, I earned degrees in nursing from Northern Michigan University and Finlandia University, and for many years I worked as a Registered Nurse in the Upper Peninsula.

When I was 30, God called, and Ron and I accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This opened us to a very profound understanding of the heart and love of the Father, which has carried us through decades of growth, love, and healing and put us on the path to our work today.

Welcome to our community. God loves you, and so do we. I look forward to being part of your journey with Him.

From Ron

I grew up in a large church-going family, but like Renee, I knew Christ for many years with only my head, not my heart. Renee and I were

called together to God, and learning to know the heart of the Father and do his work has shaped the last four decades of my life.

I served in the Coast Guard and worked as a building contractor early in my career. Later, I earned a degree in engineering from Michigan Technological University and became a licensed civil engineer. When God called me to this work, I was able to draw on my skills in construction and engineering to breathe new life into our building. In my role with Father’s Heart Ministries, I focus on facility improvement, to make real the possibilities of this historic building. I also oversee all support ministries.

From us both

Today, we’ve been married for more than 50 years. We have dedicated our lives to serving the body of Christ, bringing together our gifts and strengths to become more than the sum of their parts. Through Father’s Heart, we are working to realize the vision God has given us to create a community center of hope and healing. In our home and in our church, we strive to create a welcoming place where we can minister in prayer, deliverance, counseling, and encouragement to help you know and be held in the love of the Father.

Our roots in the Upper Peninsula are deep and true. We have three married children, eight beautiful grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, who all reside in the UP.

Our Story

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
— Matthew 18:20 ESV

Father’s Heart Ministry began as Intercessory Prayer in 1983 in our kitchen in Republic, Michigan. We were simply a group of passionate people hungry to experience more of God. Together, we learned how to pray and spend time soaking in the presence of God. What we experienced healed and transformed us.

In 1997, we moved to Ishpeming, and our steadily growing group became the Upper Peninsula Prayer Network. The Holy Spirit put the phrase “start a work” in our hearts, and in 2007 we began a weekly house church meeting in various facilities as Father’s Heart Christian Fellowship.

As our new community grew, the Nehemiah verse 2:17 “arise and build” opened our hearts and led us to the opportunity to transform the former North Lake School. In 2009, the property was donated to our ministry, giving us the foundation through which to realize the vision God has given us for this work. We have become Father’s Heart Ministries to reflect our mission and to bring our work in the Upper Peninsula together.

As we work together to transform our new building, we see the foundation for a Christian community center to bring believers together to meet the heart of the Father and be healed. Father’s Heart in Ishpeming will become a place of learning and worship, a venue for family gatherings and events, and a marketplace for small businesses.

The Lord is taking us on a glorious journey, and we invite you to listen for the call to be part of it.

Building Our Future

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
— Isaiah 58:12 ESV

We currently meet in Ishpeming at the former North Lake School property in what was the administration building. In 2009, both this building and the historic North Lake School, built in 1939, were gifted to us. Since then, we have renovated the administration building and have begun the work to restore the North Lake School. We have a vision to turn the historic school building into a Christian community center. It will be a place of learning and worship. Learn more about how you can help our building ministry.

Help Us Build!

A lot of hard work and renovation has already been accomplished, but much more must be done in order to accommodate the vision God has given for this ministry. Learn more about the renovation and how you can help.

Our Partners and Affiliates

Harvest Alliance USA

Father’s Heart Ministries is affiliated with Harvest Alliance USA. We are a ‘Word and Spirit’ relational and apostolic family of local churches and ministries from many nations. We proclaim Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, demonstrating the Father‘s love with signs, wonders and miracles. The Harvest Alliance vision is expressed in the FIRE acronym.

Father’s love revealed through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Intimacy, presence, and hearing God’s voice.
Restoration of the heart and soul.
Extending the kingdom through the equipping, anointing, and empowering of the Holy Spirit.

Breakthrough Apostolic Ministries (BAMN)

Breakthrough Apostolic Ministries Network (BAMN) is an extension of Barbara J. Yoder's ministry focused on connecting leaders throughout Canada, the Midwest and Great Lakes regions and abroad. It exists to strategically align leaders for vision, strategies, and encouragement as they pursue transformation in their respective areas.

We believe that as ministries strategically network together, a synergy is produced that activates a powerful anointing. When this anointing is released, it causes individuals to fulfill God's purposes in this strategic hour. BAMN is for those of like heart and vision whom God has called together relationally to accomplish a divine purpose. BAMN is also the governing organization through which people seeking ordination from their alignment with Apostle Barbara J. Yoder would take place.
